 The USAWP Southwest Zone Championships were held this past weekend at the University of Texas in Austin to qualify and seed...
...Southwest Zone clubs for the USAWP National Junior Olympics. The national event will held July 31 - Aug 8.
In the 18U Boy’s Division, Houston Storm rolled to victories over 2nd place Dallas A, 3rd place Dirty Bay, and 4th place Dallas B. Dirty Bay came in first place for the Boys 16U Division with Dallas A coming in 2nd, Storm coming in 3rd, and Dallas B coming in 4th place. Teams placing 1st-3rd places in the both the 18u and 16U Divisions will represent the Southwest Zone at the USA Water Polo National Junior Olympics (NJO’s). As both teams will get to play, Houston Storm and Dallas played a seeding game for the 14U Boys. In a tight fought game, the Houston Storm team won out and will be the first seed heading into the NJO’s. Dallas will be the only Southwest Zone representative in the 12U Boys group at the NJO’s.
In the 18U Girl’s Division, Dirty Bay was dominate over 2nd place Houston Storm and 3rd Place Dallas. For the 16U Girls Division, Dirty Bay and Houston Storm tied in the round robin play with Dirty Bay coming in first and Storm coming in 2nd due to goal differential against third place Dallas A (Dallas B came in 4th place). Dallas will be the only Southwest Zone representative in the 12U Girls group at the NJO’s with Dirty Bay being the lone representative in the 14U Girls Division.
Below are the seeds for the Southwest Zone club who will be competing at the National Junior Olympics at the end of the summer. The boys competition will be from July 31-Auust 3rd with the girls competing from August 5th-August 8th. The NJO’s brings 300+ teams from across the country together to play in nine divisions to form the largest water polo tournament in the world.

18 & Under Girls: 1st Seed-Dirty Bay, 2nd-Houston Storm, 3rd-Dallas
16 & Under Girls: 1st Seed-Dirty Bay, 2nd-Houston Storm, 3rd-Dallas
14 & Under Girls: 1st Seed-Dirty Bay
12 & Under Girls: 1st Seed-Dallas
18 & Under Boys: 1st Seed-Houston Storm, 2nd-Dallas, 3rd-Dirty Bay
16 & Under Boys: 1st Seed-Dirty Bay, 2nd-Dallas A, 3rd-Houston Storm
14 &Under Boys: 1st Seed-Houston Storm, 2nd-Dallas
12 & Under Boys: 1st Seed-Dallas
