After forty-two games in four divisions, the Dallas area Polar Bear League concluded this past weekend ...
...at the Southlake-Carroll ISD Natatorium. All of the athletes played hard and exhibited great sportsmanship. The four, coed divisions of competition included an Open Division (mix of Masters and 18U players), Youth Blue (the more experienced 18U and 14U players), Youth Black (the less experienced 18U and 14U players), and a 6th Grade & Younger Division. Over three Sunday Game Days in December and January, the teams competed in round robin play within each of the divisions which then seeded the Championship Round.
In the Open Division, Team #3 was strong throughout the league play going undefeated the first two game days and coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the championship game. For the Youth Blue Division, Team A had a tremendous turnaround coming from worst to first during the championship round. Team A did not win a game during the first two league game days, but came on strong in the championship round winning both games to win the division. In the Youth Black Division, all the games were hard fought throughout the three game days. Team W held steady for the entire league and outscored Team Y in their championship game. For the 6th Grade & Younger group, Team Orange attempted to come back from the last seed to the winning the division, but they came up short in the championship losing to Team Red in the championship game.
Game scores can be found at the RESULTS! section of this site. |
