HOPS WATER POLO

HOPS is a the primary Open (Masters) Water Polo Program in Houston, TX. This coed program is for athletes with some water polo experience ages 19+. HOPS practices year round, participates throughout the country at a variety of tournaments, and has been operating for over 25 years.

Practices begin annually in late January and continue through mid November at the UTHSC-Houston Recreation Center, 7779 Knight Road, Houston, TX 77054. Click here for map.

Unfortunately since very few things in life are free, HOPS has to charge membership dues on a seasonal basis (Spring, Summer, and Fall) or a flat annual fee to cover the equipment and pool rental costs. HOPS participates in a variety of tournaments throughout the year as well as intersquad games and other local Houston scrimmages.

Practices sessions and competitions are kept positive and fun.  Everyone is encouraged to come out and try the program to see if it works for them, but also please be advised that HOPS is for experienced water polo athletes who are looking to practice, train, and compete with other experienced athletes. HOPS does not have a development program for new players and there is a two week tryout period. For more information, please email hopswaterpolo@earthlink.net.
